Planning Permission

Omdeco Garden Studios, Garden Rooms and Garden Offices are considered to be permitted development, and generally do not needing planning permission, however there are certain rules that must be observed. Garden rooms must always be for a purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the dwelling house.

*The term "original house" means the house as it was first built or as it stood on 1 July 1948 (if it was built before that date). Although you may not have built an extension to the house, a previous owner may have done so.

*Designated land includes national parks and the Broads, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, conservation areas and World Heritage Sites.

Please do not worry about planning permission. We will advise you when we visit and in the unlikely event that you do need planning permission, we will arrange everything for you and include the cost within our quotation.

Building Regulations

Building regulations are only required if the building is to be greater than 30m2 or is to be used for sleeping accommodation.

In the unlikely event that you do need building regulation approval, we will arrange everything for you and the cost will be included in our quotation.
